This project is located in She County, Handan City, Hebei Province. Invested by HBIS Han Steel Company, it is a significant steelmaking process upgrade and renovation project within the new area of HBIS Han Steel. The project aims to construct the main building of a steelmaking workshop and foundations for key equipment such as KR desulfurization and RH vacuum refining units. The Group Company was responsible for the preliminary detailed geotechnical investigation, providing accurate and reliable geological data for the foundation design and construction of the complex process equipment.
To meet the stringent foundation requirements of large industrial buildings and heavy equipment bases, the project conducted comprehensive site investigation: a total of 60 various exploration points were completed, with a total drilling depth of 1,852 meters. The work encompassed engineering surveying and layout, drilling, in-situ testing (including heavy dynamic penetration tests), and comprehensive laboratory geotechnical tests (covering physical properties, point load tests, rock saturated uniaxial compressive strength tests, etc.). Detailed data compilation and report preparation were also completed.
Facing multiple challenges, the project commenced on November 16, 2025, and was completed on December 3, 2025. Through scientific organization, the project team achieved this in merely 18 days, meeting the tight schedule requirement with high efficiency.
The investigation site is located in a karst development area, presenting difficulties in drilling operations. Additionally, strict environmental controls, limited workspace, and the tight schedule posed significant challenges. Throughout the project implementation, meticulous planning and organization were applied from the preparation of the investigation outline, equipment selection, personnel training, to on-site control. Strict quality control, careful management of work time, and coordinated on-site arrangements were maintained. This refined, whole-process management yielded positive results in schedule, quality, and safety, earning full recognition and high praise from the client.
