Located in Zhengding County, Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, Construction Lot II of the Underground Pipeline Separation and Renovation Project is one of Zhengding County's "Top Ten Livelihood Projects." It is invested by the Zhengding County Urban Management and Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Bureau. The Group Company, responsible for Construction Lot II, undertook the renovation of a 1,572-meter-long underground drainage pipeline network along Hengshan Road. This project successfully achieved stormwater and sewage separation for a major urban arterial road, significantly enhancing the level of municipal infrastructure.
The project utilized the mechanical excavation pipe jacking method to install DN2400mm Class III steel socket reinforced concrete pipes along the entire route. The completed works include: 1,572 meters of pipe jacking; 8 jacking pits; 7 receiving pits; 1 cut-and-cover shaft; and 16 prefabricated manholes.
The project commenced on March 5, 2024, and was completed on May 29, 2024. Despite challenges such as a tight schedule, busy traffic along the route, and interface works with heating pipelines, the project team implemented scientific planning, concentrated superior resources to tackle difficulties, and efficiently completed all renovation tasks in just 86 days. This achieved the construction goal of being "short, smooth, and fast."
The primary soil layers consisted of silty sand and fine sand, which were highly prone to collapse and posed constraints on conventional pipe jacking methods. Adapting to the site conditions, the project team made adjustments and improvements to techniques such as pipe heading, pipeline steering correction, and grouting processes. These measures ensured project quality and enhanced overall safety, earning unanimous recognition from the client. The project also resulted in the granting of 1 invention patent and 2 utility model patents. Throughout the entire construction process, not a single safety or quality incident occurred. The project quality was excellent, with all control indicators meeting contractual requirements.
